For this show, the gallery sent blank 8-inch cardboard puzzle pieces to teachers of autistic students inviting the students to decorate the pieces in ways that expressed their worlds. The puzzle piece, a symbol of the search for the missing pieces in understanding and treating autism, is the logo of the advocacy group Autism Speaks. The show contained about 550 pieces of art made by preschoolers to young adults in their early 20s.
